Love Carol Foundation was created to honor the memory of our beloved mother, Carol Kall. We lost our mom on April 20,1997, after a 15 year battle with breast cancer. Our mom was only 53 years old.

Our family had many years in between diagnoses filled with joyous celebrations: graduations, weddings and babies (the ultimate for our mom). Each event and ‘normal’ day held so much meaning for all of us. There is no doubt that knowing our mom was living with the disease gave us a heightened awareness of how precious life is. We never took our time for granted. Our mom passed peacefully at home with all of us there.

Our mom was truly a special person. She was loving, nurturing, giving, supportive, funny, happy, at ease and made everything she did appear effortless. We miss her dearly.

Being around our mom made you want to be a better person. She was always doing for others and was passionate about supporting people in need, in particular causes that surrounded children. To continue our mom’s legacy, Love Carol Foundation will support local, national and international causes that we know would’ve touched our mom’s heart. Love Carol Foundation will predominately provide for children and families in need with an emphasis to support families impacted by breast cancer. All eight of her grandchildren (David, Emily, Jessica, Cameron, Caroline, Melanie, Daniel & Andrew) will play an active role in Love Carol Foundation, including participation in fundraising efforts and (reasonable) input on money allocation.

Along the many traditions we have started and causes supported in memory of our mom: ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk (9 years), Love Carol scholarship fund at SUNY Binghamton, shelters for battered women, children’s literacy programs, Grandma Carol cookie drive to support local chemotherapy treatment center, etc.

We look forward to sharing more details with you on the official launch of Love Carol Foundation, August 28th (our mom’s birthday).
